Peconic Care Division

Our Mission is to create a state-of–the–art research center designed to investigate many of the biochemical, behavioral and environmental aspects underlying addiction and its’ progression. Specifically, using both neuropsychological and molecular neuroimaging strategies, studies will focus on cue-induced relapse to drug seeking behavior as well as dopaminergic changes that occur in specific regions of the brain as a consequence of the disease process. These data will serve to identify novel treatment approaches that combat the underpinnings of addiction from an environmental, psychosocial and neurophysiologic perspective. Our research will offer the unique opportunity to provide the latest treatments to the millions of individuals who suffer from the disease of addiction.
